Reciting the Quran in a State of Bowing and Prostration

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad forbade Ali from reciting the Quran while bowing and prostrating.

'Ali b. Abi Talib reported: The Messenger of Allah forbade me to recite (the Qur'an) in a state of bowing and prostration.
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ رَاكِعًا أَوْ سَاجِدًا
