Supplication Taught by the Prophet (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) taught a supplication to Ibn Abbas, but the latter did not mention the subsequent portion of it.

Ibn Abbas reported from the Messenger of Allah the words: " And that would fill that which will please Thee besides (them)!" and he did not mention the subsequent (portion of supplication).
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ ‏ "‏ وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَا بَعْدَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a supplication that was taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to his companion, Ibn Abbas. It is reported that he only mentioned part of it and left out the rest. This hadith teaches us about how important it is to remember and practice our prayers and supplications as they are an integral part of our faith. We should strive to learn more about them so we can benefit from their blessings in our lives. Additionally, this hadith also shows us how important it is for us to be mindful when we are learning something new from someone else; even if we don't understand or remember all of what they said, we should still try our best to retain as much information as possible so that we can benefit from it later on in life.
