Reciting Quran During Night Prayer While Travelling

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited a verse from the Quran while on a journey during his night prayer.

'Adi reported: I heard al-Bara' narrating it from the Messenger of Allah that while in a journey he said the night prayer and recited in one of the two rak'ahs:" By the Fig and the Olive" (Su'rah xcv).
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيٍّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الآخِرَةَ فَقَرَأَ فِي إِحْدَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ‏{‏ وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ‏}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of reciting verses from the Quran during his night prayer while travelling. It is narrated by al-Bara' ibn 'Azib that he heard it directly from the Messenger of Allah himself. This hadith teaches us to recite verses from the Holy Book in our prayers and to remember Allah even when we are travelling.
