Sahih Muslim 459 (Book 4, Hadith 191) #8196
Different Verses Recited During Prayers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad used to recite different verses in the morning, noon and afternoon prayers, and he prolonged the morning prayer compared to the other two.

Jabir b. Samura reported: The Apostle of Allah used to recite in the noon prayer:" By the night when it envelopes" (92:1), and in the afternoon like this, but he prolonged the morning prayer as compared to that (noon and afternoon prayers).

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly five times a day according to Islamic teachings; be mindful of your time spent in prayer; strive for consistency while reciting verses from Quran during each prayer; remember Allah’s greatness amidst worldly distractions you may face throughout your days .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Jabir b. Samura tells us that Prophet Muhammad used to recite different verses during his prayers at different times of day. He would recite Surah Al-Layl when praying at noon, and a similar verse when praying in the afternoon. However, he would prolong his morning prayer compared to the other two prayers. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our time spent in prayer and not waste it unnecessarily; we should also strive for consistency in our recitations during each prayer so as not to miss any important verses or teachings from Allah's words.

The hadith also reminds us of how important it is for Muslims to pray regularly throughout their day - five times a day - as prescribed by Allah's teachings in order for them to stay connected with Him and receive His blessings on their lives. It is through these regular prayers that Muslims can remain focused on their faith and remember Allah's greatness even amidst all worldly distractions they may face throughout their days.
