Reciting Surah Qaf in Morning Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited Surah Qaf in the first rak'ah of his morning prayer.

Ziyad b. 'Ilaqa reported it on the authority of his uncle that he said the morning prayer with the Messenger of Allah and he recited in the first rak'ah: "And the tall palm trees having flower spikes piled one above another (l. 10) or perhaps Surah Qaf".

QUICK LESSONS:
Read Quranic verses during prayers

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of reciting the Quran during prayer. It was reported by Ziyad b. 'Ilaqa that he prayed with the Prophet Muhammad and heard him recite Surah Qaf in the first rak'ah of his morning prayer. This shows us how important it is to recite from the Quran during our prayers as it was something that was done by our beloved Prophet himself. We should strive to make sure we are reading from the Quran every day and especially when we are praying so that we can benefit from its teachings and guidance.
