QUICK LESSONS:
Have respect for religious leaders and those in positions of authority over you; Strive to learn more about your faith from them directly
EXPLANATIONS:
Abdullah b. Mas'ud was not present when the Prophet Muhammad was alive but he wished that he had been there to witness it himself. This hadith shows us how much respect and admiration Abdullah had for the Prophet Muhammad and how much he wanted to be in his presence. It also teaches us that we should strive to have a similar level of respect for our religious leaders and those who are in positions of authority over us as well as having a strong desire to learn more about our faith from them directly.
