Praying with Limited Resources

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) leading a prayer with people who were wearing their lower garments around their necks due to lack of clothing. It also mentions that women should not raise their heads until men do so.

Sahl b. Sa'd reported: I saw men having tied (the ends) of their lower garments around their necks, like children, due to shortage of cloth and offering their prayers behind the Messenger of Allah . One of the proclaimers said: O womenfolk, do not lift your heads till men raise (them).
