Sahih al-Bukhari 830 (Book 10, Hadith 224) #804
Prostrations of Sahu During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) led the Zuhr prayer and got up after the second rak'a, but then prostrated twice while sitting.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Malik bin Buhaina: Once Allah's Messenger led us in the Zuhr prayer and got up (after the prostrations of the second rak'a) although he should have sat (for the Tashahhud). So at the end of the prayer, he prostrated twice while sitting (prostrations of Sahu).

QUICK LESSONS:
Pay attention to details when praying; Correct mistakes if made; Seek forgiveness from Allah SWT
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ prayer during the Zuhr time. He got up after two rak'as, which is normal for a prayer. However, he then prostrated twice while sitting in what is known as Sahu or Sujud Sahwi. This type of prostration is done to make up for any mistakes made during a prayer and it can be done at any point in a prayer or even outside of it. It shows that even though we may make mistakes in our prayers, we can still correct them and seek forgiveness from Allah SWT. It also teaches us to be mindful of our prayers and to pay attention to every detail so that we don't miss anything important.
