Sahih Muslim 391a (Book 4, Hadith 27) #8032
Raising Hands During Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) raising his hands at the beginning, before kneeling down and after lifting his head from the state of kneeling during prayer.

Abu Qilaba reported that he saw Malik b. Huwairith raising his hands at the beginning of prayer and raising his hands before kneeling down, and raising his hands after lifting his head from the state of kneeling, and he narrated that the Messenger of Allah used to do like this.

QUICK LESSONS:
Raise your hands at the beginning of prayer, before kneeling down and after lifting your head from the state of kneeling during prayer.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to us about how we should conduct ourselves when we are in prayer. It is narrated by Abu Qilaba that he saw Malik b. Huwairith raising his hands at the beginning of prayer, before kneeling down and after lifting his head from the state of kneeling. This was also done by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). By doing this, it shows that we are humbling ourselves before Allah and asking for His mercy and blessings. We should also remember to raise our hands in supplication when praying as this is a sign of humility and respect towards Allah.

It is important to note that while raising our hands during prayer can be beneficial, it should not be done excessively or without purpose as this can distract us from focusing on our prayers. We must always remember to keep our focus on Allah while praying so that we can receive His blessings more effectively.
