EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of not performing ablution before prayer after eating roasted goat liver. It is reported that Abu Rafi' used to roast the liver of a goat for the Messenger of Allah and then he offered prayer without performing ablution. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible to pray without performing ablutions in certain circumstances such as when one has eaten something which does not require washing off hands or mouth. However, it should be noted that this exception only applies when one has eaten something which does not require washing off hands or mouth and does not apply to other situations such as when one has touched impure substances or done any other activities which would normally require wudu before praying.

The values taught by this hadith are patience, obedience to Allah's commands and respect for His laws. We should strive to follow the example set by our beloved Prophet Muhammad in all aspects of our lives including our prayers and worship practices.
