Sahih Muslim 333a (Book 3, Hadith 75) #7923
Continuous Bleeding and Prayer

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that a woman should not abandon prayer even if she experiences continuous bleeding, as it is not menstruation.

'A'isha reported: Fatimah b. Abu Hubaish came to the Apostle and said: I am a woman whose blood keeps flowing (even after the menstruation period). I am never purified; should I, therefore, abandon prayer? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Not at all, for that is only a vein, and is not a menstruation, so when menstruation comes, abandon prayer, and when it ends wash the blood from yourself and then pray.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that women should not stop praying even if they experience continuous bleeding. The Prophet Muhammad advised Fatimah b. Abu Hubaish to continue praying despite her condition, as it was only a vein and not menstruation. When she does experience menstruation, he advised her to take a break from prayer until the period ends and then wash away the blood before resuming prayer. This hadith teaches us that we should never give up on our religious obligations no matter what our circumstances are. It also reminds us of the importance of cleanliness in Islam and how we must always strive to maintain it in order for our prayers to be accepted by Allah SWT.
