Sahih al-Bukhari 814 (Book 10, Hadith 209) #789
Prayer Etiquette

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught people to tie their Izars around their necks during prayer and instructed women not to raise their heads until the men had sat straight.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd: The people used to pray with the Prophet tying their Izars around their necks because of their small sizes and the women were directed that they should not raise their heads from the prostrations till the men had sat straight.

QUICK LESSONS:
Tie your Izar around your neck when praying and do not disturb or distract others while they are praying.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the etiquette of prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught people to tie their Izars, which are a type of clothing, around their necks during prayer. He also instructed women not to raise their heads from the prostrations until the men had sat straight. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our clothing and behavior when we pray, as it is an act of worship that requires respect and reverence. We should also be aware that our actions can affect others in our community, so we must take care not to disturb or distract them while they are praying.
