QUICK LESSONS:
Treat everyone with respect regardless of who they are or what they believe in
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of respecting women and not humiliating them. It is narrated by Hisham b. 'Urwa that Umm Salama said to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, "You humiliated the women." The Prophet ﷺ was shocked by this statement and asked her how he could have done such a thing. Umm Salama then explained that he had done so by saying something which made them feel inferior or embarrassed in front of others. This shows us that it is wrong to humiliate or make someone feel inferior because of their gender, race, religion or any other factor. We should always treat everyone with respect regardless of who they are or what they believe in.
