Washing in a State of Junub

SUMMARY: Washing in a state of Junub should be done by taking out water in handfuls.

Abu Huraira reported the Messenger of Allah saying: None of you must wash in standing water when he is in a state of Junub. And Abu Huraira was asked how it was to be done; he said: It was to be taken out in handfuls.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the proper way to perform ablution when one is in a state of impurity, known as junub. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed that one should not wash themselves while standing in water, but instead take out the water with their hands and pour it over themselves. This was explained further by Abu Huraira who said that it was to be taken out in handfuls. This hadith teaches us the importance of following Islamic teachings even for something as simple as washing ourselves, and how we must pay attention to details when performing religious acts. It also shows us the importance of seeking knowledge from those who are knowledgeable about Islam, such as scholars or teachers.
