Ten Do's and Don'ts for Children

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a father who was teaching his son the ten things that he should do and not do.

This hadith has been narrated by Mus'ab b. Shaiba with the same chain of transmitters except for these words: " His father said: I forgot the tenth one".
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ، فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُوهُ وَنَسِيتُ الْعَاشِرَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of teaching children right from wrong, as well as good morals and values. It is narrated by Mus'ab b. Shaiba, who tells us that a father was teaching his son the ten things he should do and not do in order to be successful in life. The father wanted to ensure that his son would grow up with strong moral character, so he taught him these important lessons which would help him become a better person in society. The father also stressed the importance of remembering these lessons, so that they could be applied throughout life. This hadith serves as an example for parents on how to raise their children with strong moral values and good character traits which will help them succeed in life.
