EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, Prophet Muhammad is warning his followers about accountability in the afterlife. He was travelling with a group of people and when it was time for afternoon prayer, he called out “Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire”. This is a reminder that we should be mindful of our actions and words as we will be held accountable for them in the hereafter. We must strive to do good deeds and avoid bad ones so that we can enter paradise instead of hellfire. The Arabic terms used here are Islah which means improvement or reform and Jahannam which means hellfire or inferno. This hadith teaches us that our actions have consequences and that we should always strive to do good deeds so that Allah rewards us with paradise instead of punishment with hellfire.
