Sahih al-Bukhari 785 (Book 10, Hadith 180) #760
Perfecting Prayer

SUMMARY: Abu Huraira used to say Takbir on each bowing and rising during prayer, and upon completion of the prayer he would say that his prayer was more similar to the Prophet's than anyone else's.

Narrated Abu Salama: When Abu Huraira led us in prayer he used to say Takbir on each bowing and rising. On the completion of the prayer he used to say, "My prayer is more similar to the prayer of Allah's Messenger than that of anyone of you".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for perfection in one's prayers, follow all aspects correctly so as to be closer with Allah through them .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about perfecting one's prayer. Abu Huraira was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and when leading others in prayer he would recite Takbir on each bowing and rising. Upon completion of the prayer, he would declare that his own prayers were more similar to those of the Prophet ﷺ than anyone else’s. This shows us how important it is for us to strive for perfection in our prayers, as this is something that Allah looks favorably upon. We should take care to ensure we are following all aspects of our prayers correctly so that we can be closer to Allah through them.
