Sahih Muslim 151b (Book 1, Hadith 290) #7555
Reciting and Completing Verses of the Quran

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad reciting a verse from the Quran and completing it.

'Abdullah b. Muhammad narrated the same hadith on the authority of Abu Huraira and in the transmission by Malik the words are that he (the Holy Prophet) recited the verse: " but that my heart may rest at ease" and completed it. This hadith has also been narrated by Abd b. Humaid Ya'qub, i. e. son of Ibrahim b. Sa'd, Abu Uwais, Zuhri, like the one narrated by Malik with the same chain of transmission and said: He recited this verse till he completed it.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of reciting verses from the Quran and completing them in full. It was narrated by several people including Abdullah b. Muhammad on the authority of Abu Huraira that Prophet Muhammad recited a verse from the Quran until he completed it fully. This shows us how important it is to recite verses in full as this was something that was done by Prophet Muhammad himself and thus should be emulated by Muslims today as well. Additionally, this hadith also highlights how important it is for Muslims to learn and understand verses from the Quran so they can recite them properly with their full meaning intact.
