Remember & Retain Words , Understand Teachings , Stay Away From Chaos & Confusion .

This hadith emphasizes on the importance of remembering and retaining the words of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in order to avoid turmoil. It is narrated on the authority of Rib'i bin Hirash that when Hudhaifa came from 'Umar he sat down to narrate to them and said that Umar asked his companions if anyone remembered what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said about turmoil. He then cited a hadith but did not mention its explanation. This hadith teaches us that it is important for us to remember and retain what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said so we can stay away from any kind of chaos or confusion.
