SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to prolong the first rak'a of the Zuhr prayer and shorten the second one and used to do the same in the Fajr prayer.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada: My father said, "The Prophet used to prolong the first rak'a of the Zuhr prayer and shorten the second one and used to do the same in the Fajr prayer".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Prophet Muhammad's example when performing your daily prayers by prolonging your first Rak’ah and shortening your second one.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada states that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to prolong his first rak'a of both his Zuhr and Fajr prayers while shortening his second rak'a. This is a practice that Muslims should follow when performing their daily prayers. It is important for Muslims to take their time during their prayers as it helps them focus on what they are saying and doing. Additionally, it teaches us patience as we wait for our reward from Allah SWT. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about moderation in all aspects of life; not going overboard with anything but rather finding a balance between two extremes.
