Make efforts for material and moral upliftment; Take care of your people; Strive to do good deeds; Be responsible; Be accountable; Show compassion; Be kind; Be selfless

This hadith is about the responsibility of a ruler towards their people. It is narrated on the authority of Abu Malih that Ubaidullah b. Ziyad visited Ma'qil b. Yasar in his illness and Ma'qil said to him that he heard Allah's apostle say that a ruler who has been entrusted with the affairs of Muslims but does not make any efforts for their material and moral upliftment or does not sincerely mean their welfare would not enter Paradise along with them. This hadith emphasizes on how important it is for rulers to take care of their people and ensure they are provided with all necessary resources for their well-being as this will be taken into account when they are judged by Allah in the afterlife. It also teaches us that we should strive to do good deeds even if we are in positions of power as our actions will determine our fate in the hereafter.
