The Power of Faith

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked about evil prompting and he replied that it is pure faith.

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Apostle was asked about evil prompting, to which he replied: It is pure faith.
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الصَّفَّارُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَثَّامٍ، عَنْ سُعَيْرِ بْنِ الْخِمْسِ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ عَنِ الْوَسْوَسَةِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ تِلْكَ مَحْضُ الإِيمَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the power of faith in overcoming evil prompting. It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked about evil prompting and he replied that it is pure faith. This means that if one has strong faith in Allah and His teachings, then they will be able to resist any kind of temptation or negative thoughts from entering their mind or heart. It also implies that having a strong connection with Allah through prayer and worship can help one stay away from any kind of sin or wrongdoing as well as protect them from being influenced by negative forces around them. In other words, having a strong belief in Allah can help us stay away from all kinds of wrongdoings and lead us towards righteousness instead.
