Belief in Allah and the Last Day Leads to Forgiveness

SUMMARY: Believing in Allah and the Last Day should lead to a person not holding grudges against the Ansar.

It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person who believes in Allah and the Last Day never nurses a grudge against the Ansar.

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in Allah & The Last Day; Forgive those who have wronged you; Show faith in God's justice & mercy

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how believing in Allah and the Last Day should lead to a person not holding grudges against the Ansar. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that if someone believes in Allah and His day of judgement then they will be more likely to forgive those who have wronged them. This is because they understand that everyone will be judged by their actions on this day so it is better for them to forgive others now rather than wait for judgement from God later. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught that it was especially important for believers not to hold grudges against the Ansar as they were some of his closest companions who had helped him spread Islam throughout Arabia. By forgiving those who have wronged us we can show our faith in God's justice and mercy which will ultimately benefit us on Judgement day.
