Sahih Muslim 52k (Book 1, Hadith 99) #7364
The Contrast between Camel Owners and Sheep Owners

SUMMARY: Pride and conceitedness is found amongst those who own camels, while tranquillity and sobriety is found amongst those who own sheep.

Shu'ba narrated the hadith as reported by Jarir with the same chain of narrators with this addition: Pride and conceitedness is among the owners of the camels and tranquillity and sobriety is found amongst the owners of sheep.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for a balance between pride & ambition; Remember your character matters most; Possessions don't define you

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the contrast between people who own camels and people who own sheep. It suggests that pride and conceitedness are more likely to be found in those who have camels, while tranquillity and sobriety are more likely to be found in those who have sheep. This could mean that having too much wealth can lead to arrogance, whereas having less wealth can lead to humility. It also teaches us that we should strive for a balance between these two qualities - not too much pride or too little ambition - but rather a healthy balance of both. We should also remember that our possessions do not define us; it is our character which truly matters in life.
