Teaching Modesty

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed by a group of Ansar who were teaching their brother about modesty.

Zuhri has narrated this hadith with the addition of these words: He (the Holy Prophet) happened to pass by a mass of Ansar who was instructing his brother (about modesty).
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يَعِظُ أَخَاهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of teaching modesty to others. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed by a group of Ansar who were instructing their brother on the importance of hayaa’ or modesty. This hadith shows us that it is important to teach others about good values and morals so that they can become better people and live more righteous lives. It also teaches us that we should be patient when teaching someone something new and not get frustrated if they don’t understand it right away. We should also be willing to help our brothers and sisters in faith learn more about Islam so that they can become better Muslims too.
