Sahih Muslim 28a (Book 1, Hadith 47) #7312
The Path to Paradise

SUMMARY: Affirming the truth of Allah's oneness and the prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH) will lead to entry into Paradise.

It is narrated on the authority of Ubadah b. Samit that the messenger of Allah observed: He who said:" There is no god but Allah, He is One and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is his servant and His messenger, that Christ is servant and the son of His slave-girl and he (Christ) His word which He communicated to Mary and is His Spirit, that Paradise is a fact and Hell is a fact," Allah would make him (he who affirms these truths enter Paradise through any one of its eight doors which he would like.
حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ - عَنِ ابْنِ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَيْرُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي جُنَادَةُ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَأَنَّ عِيسَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَابْنُ أَمَتِهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُ وَأَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ وَأَنَّ النَّارَ حَقٌّ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَىِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ شَاءَ

This hadith speaks about the importance of believing in Allah's oneness and accepting Muhammad as His messenger. It is narrated by Ubadah b. Samit that Prophet Muhammad said that whoever affirms these truths, which are that there is no god but Allah, He is One and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is his servant and His messenger, that Christ is servant and the son of His slave-girl and he was His word which He communicated to Mary and was His Spirit, that Paradise is a fact and Hell is a fact, then Allah would make him enter paradise through any one of its eight doors which he would like. This hadith teaches us about the importance of faith in Islam as it promises those who believe in these truths with entry into paradise through any door they choose. It also emphasizes on how important it is for Muslims to accept all prophets sent by God including Jesus Christ as his messengers without any doubt or hesitation.
