Asking Questions of the Prophet

SUMMARY: It is forbidden to ask too many questions of the Prophet.

It is narrated on the authority of Thabit that Anas said: We were forbidden in the Holy Qur'an that we should ask about anything from the Messenger of Allah and then Anas reported the hadith in similar words.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful when asking questions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is not permissible to ask too many questions of the Prophet. The Holy Qur’an forbids us from asking too much from the Messenger of Allah, and this hadith reinforces this teaching. We should be respectful when asking questions, and only ask what is necessary for our understanding or faith. We should also remember that we are not allowed to question Allah's decisions or teachings, as He knows best what is good for us.
