Sahih al-Bukhari 7502 (Book 97, Hadith 127) #7204
The Promise of Allah to the Womb

SUMMARY: Allah created the womb and promised to keep good relations with those who keep good relations with it, and sever ties with those who sever ties with it.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Allah created the creation, and when He finished from His creation the Rahm (womb) got up, and Allah said (to it)".Stop! What do you want? It said; "At this place I seek refuge with You from all those who sever me (ie sever the ties of Kinship)" Allah said: "Would you be pleased that I will keep good relation with the one who will keep good relation with you, and I will sever the relation with the one who will sever the relation with you. It said: 'Yes, 'O my Lord'. Allah said (to it), 'That is for you'.' And then Abu Huraira recited the Verse:-- "Would you then if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship". (47:22)

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a promise that Allah made to the creation of the womb. According to this hadith, when Allah finished creating everything in existence, He asked the Rahm or womb what it wanted. The Rahm asked for refuge from anyone who would sever its ties. In response, Allah promised that He would keep good relations with anyone who kept good relations with it and sever ties with anyone who severed its ties. This is referenced in Quran 47:22 which states “Would you then if you were given authority do mischief in the land and break your tie of kinship?” This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to maintain our relationships as they are important not only on Earth but also in Heaven. We should be kind and generous towards our family members as well as others around us so that we can receive blessings from God Himself.
