Protection of Medina

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that if Allah wills, Medina will be protected from the Dajjal and plague.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "Ad-Dajjal will come to Medina and find the angels guarding it. If Allah will, neither Ad-Dajjal nor plague will be able to come near it".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي عِيسَى، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ الْمَدِينَةُ يَأْتِيهَا الدَّجَّالُ فَيَجِدُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ يَحْرُسُونَهَا فَلاَ يَقْرَبُهَا الدَّجَّالُ وَلاَ الطَّاعُونُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the protection of Medina by Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that if Allah wills, neither Ad-Dajjal nor plague will be able to come near it. This hadith teaches us that we should have faith in Allah's power and protection over us and our loved ones. It also shows us how much importance was given to the city of Medina by the Prophet Muhammad as he prayed for its safety from any harm or danger.
