QUICK LESSONS:
Recite certain prayers before going to bed and upon waking up in the morning . Be grateful for all that you have been blessed with by Allah . Remember God at all times .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his exemplary character and devotion to Allah. He would recite certain prayers before going to bed and upon waking up in the morning. Before sleeping, he would say “Allahumma bismika ahya wa amut” which translates as “O Allah, with Your Name I live and die”. Upon waking up, he would say “Al-hamdu li l-lahi al-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilaihi-nnushur” which translates as “All praise is due to Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and unto Him is our resurrection”. This hadith teaches us that we should be grateful for all that we have been blessed with by Allah, including life itself. We should also remember Him at all times - when we go to sleep or wake up - so that He may guide us through our lives on earth until our ultimate return back to Him in the hereafter.
