The Sermon of Uthman bin Affan

SUMMARY: Uthman bin Affan delivered a sermon on the pulpit of the Prophet.

Narrated As-Sa'ib bin Yazid: That he heard 'Uthman bin 'Affan delivering a sermon on the pulpit of the Prophet
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، خَطَبَنَا عَلَى مِنْبَرِ النَّبِيِّ ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
Uthman bin Affan was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad and was known for his piety and righteousness. He was appointed as the third Caliph after Abu Bakr and Umar, two other companions. During his reign, he delivered a sermon on the pulpit of Prophet Muhammad which is recorded in this hadith. This hadith serves as an example to us that we should always strive to be righteous and pious like Uthman so that we can also be blessed with such opportunities to preach from the same platform as our beloved prophet did. We should also take heed from this hadith that it is important for us to listen carefully when someone is preaching or delivering a sermon so that we can learn something valuable from it.
