Sahih al-Bukhari 70 (Book 3, Hadith 12) #70
Preaching with Care

SUMMARY: Abdullah was preaching to the people on Thursdays and a man asked him to preach daily. Abdullah replied that he did not want to bore them, just like the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do.

Narrated Abu Wail: 'Abdullah used to give a religious talk to the people on every Thursday. Once a man said, "O Aba 'Abdur-Rahman! (By Allah) I wish if you could preach us daily". He replied, "The only thing which prevents me from doing so, is that I hate to bore you, and no doubt I take care of you in preaching by selecting a suitable time just as the Prophet used to do with us, for fear of making us bored".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be considerate of your audience when giving religious talks or teachings; Be aware of how much information they can take in at one time without feeling bored or overwhelmed; Select a suitable time for your teachings so that it would be easier for everyone to understand and absorb what you are saying without feeling bored or overwhelmed by too much information at once .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how we should go about preaching and teaching others. It is important for us to be mindful of how much we are talking and teaching so that we don't bore our audience or make them feel overwhelmed. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was very mindful of this when he taught his companions, as mentioned in this hadith. He would select a suitable time for his teachings so that it would be easier for everyone to understand and absorb what he was saying without feeling bored or overwhelmed by too much information at once. This teaches us an important lesson in being considerate of our audience when giving religious talks or teachings, as well as being aware of how much information they can take in at one time without feeling bored or overwhelmed.
