Sahih al-Bukhari 7232 (Book 94, Hadith 7) #6946
The Two People to Admire

SUMMARY: This hadith is about not wishing to be like anyone else except for two people, one who has been given knowledge of the Quran and recites it day and night, and another who has been given wealth and spends it in a just manner.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Not to wish to be the like except of two men. A man whom Allah has given the (knowledge of the) Qur'an and he recites it during the hours of night and day and the one who wishes says: If I were given the same as this (man) has been given, I would do what he does, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the just and right way, in which case the one who wishes says, 'If I were given the same as he has been given, I would do what he does'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Use your blessings responsibly & wisely . Appreciate & be grateful towards your blessings . Emulate those whom are using their blessings appropriately .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should not wish to be like anyone else except for two people. The first is someone who has been blessed with knowledge of the Quran, which they recite during the hours of day and night. The second is someone who has been blessed with wealth, which they spend in a just manner. We should admire these two types of people because they are using their blessings from Allah in an appropriate way. We should strive to emulate them by using our own blessings from Allah in a similar way.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was teaching us that we should use our blessings from Allah wisely instead of wishing for something that we do not have or cannot control. He was also teaching us that if we are fortunate enough to receive any kind of blessing from Allah then we must use it responsibly so as not to waste it or misuse it. By doing this, we can become closer to Allah and gain His pleasure through our actions.
