Taking Pledge of Allegiance without Touching Hands

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to take the Pledge of allegiance from women by reciting a verse from the Quran and not touching any woman's hand except for his captives or slaves.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet used to take the Pledge of allegiance from the women by words only after reciting this Holy Verse:--(60:12) ".that they will not associate anything in worship with Allah". (60:12) And the hand of Allah's Messenger did not touch any woman's hand except the hand of that woman his right hand possessed. (ie his captives or his lady slaves).
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ يُبَايِعُ النِّسَاءَ بِالْكَلاَمِ بِهَذِهِ الآيَةِ ‏{‏لاَ يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا‏}‏ قَالَتْ وَمَا مَسَّتْ يَدُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ يَدَ امْرَأَةٍ، إِلاَّ امْرَأَةً يَمْلِكُهَا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad PBUH took the pledge of allegiance from women. He did not touch any woman's hand, except for those he owned as captives or slaves. Instead, he recited a verse from the Quran which was 60:12 . This verse states that one should not associate anything in worship with Allah. By taking this pledge, it meant that these women were devoted to Allah and would follow His teachings and commandments. It also showed their commitment to Islam and its values such as justice, mercy, kindness etc. This hadith teaches us that we should be devoted to Allah and follow His teachings in order to be successful in life both spiritually and physically.
