The Significance of Righteous Dreams

SUMMARY: Dreams of righteous people are a sign of prophetism.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "A good dream (that comes true) of a righteous man is one of forty-six parts of prophetism".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الرُّؤْيَا الْحَسَنَةُ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the significance of dreams that come true for righteous people. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik who said that Allah's Messenger said that a good dream which comes true for a righteous person is one out of forty-six parts of prophetism. This means that when a righteous person has a dream which comes true, it is seen as an indication or sign from Allah and it can be interpreted as part of the prophetic mission. It also implies that having such dreams can be seen as an indication or sign from Allah to guide us in our lives and help us make decisions. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to strive to become more righteous so we may have more meaningful dreams and receive guidance from Allah through them.
