Sahih al-Bukhari 6940 (Book 89, Hadith 1) #6683
Praying for Safety and Justice

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) used to pray for the safety of certain people and for Allah to be hard on a certain tribe.

Narrated Abi Huraira: The Prophet used to invoke Allah in his prayer, "O Allah! Save 'Aiyash bin Abi Rabi'a and Salama bin Hisham and Al-Walid bin Al-Walid; O Allah! Save the weak among the believers; O Allah! Be hard upon the tribe of Mudar and inflict years (of famine) upon them like the (famine) years of Joseph".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray for your brothers & sisters in faith & those who are weaker than you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer to Allah. He prayed for the safety of 'Aiyash bin Abi Rabi'a, Salama bin Hisham and Al-Walid bin Al-Walid. He also asked Allah to protect all weak believers. Lastly, he asked Allah to be hard on the tribe of Mudar and inflict years of famine upon them like what happened with Joseph in his time. This hadith teaches us that we should always pray for our brothers and sisters in faith as well as those who are weaker than us so that they may be protected from harm or danger. It also teaches us that justice should prevail over injustice no matter how powerful or influential someone may be; if they have done wrong then they must face consequences just like everyone else would have to do in similar circumstances.
