Equality in Punishment

SUMMARY: The Prophet gave the order of Qisas (equality in punishment) when a girl's incisor tooth was broken by another girl.

Narrated Anas: The daughter of An-Nadr slapped a girl and broke her incisor tooth. They (the relatives of that girl), came to the Prophet and he gave the order of Qisas (equality in punishment).
حَدَّثَنَا الأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ ابْنَةَ النَّضْرِ، لَطَمَتْ جَارِيَةً، فَكَسَرَتْ ثَنِيَّتَهَا، فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ فَأَمَرَ بِالْقِصَاصِ‏.‏

This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for justice and fairness when dealing with others and not take advantage of them or treat them unfairly. We should also remember that Allah is Just and He will reward those who are just and punish those who are unjust.
