Sahih al-Bukhari 6884 (Book 87, Hadith 23) #6617
Justice for All: Execution of an Attacker

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ ordered the execution of a Jew who had crushed the head of a girl between two stones, after she identified him as her attacker.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A Jew crushed the head of a girl between two stones. It was said to her".Who has done this to you, such-and-such person, such-and-such person?" When the name of the Jew was mentioned, she nodded with her head, agreeing. So the Jew was brought and he confessed. The Prophet ordered that his head be crushed with the stones. (Hammam said, "with two stones")

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek justice when wrongdoings occur and do not take matters into your own hands as it is up to Allah to decide how someone should be punished for their actions.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about justice and punishment for those who commit wrongdoings. It tells us that no matter what religion or background someone is from, they will be held accountable for their actions if they are proven guilty. In this case, the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that the Jew who was found guilty of crushing the head of a girl between two stones should have his head crushed with two stones in return. This shows us that justice should be served to all people equally and fairly regardless of their background or religion. It also teaches us that we must always seek justice when wrongdoings occur and not take matters into our own hands as it is up to Allah to decide how someone should be punished for their actions.
