Sahih al-Bukhari 6879 (Book 87, Hadith 18) #6612
Justice for the Innocent

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ killed a Jew who had murdered a girl with two stones after she confirmed his identity.

Narrated Anas: A Jew killed a girl so that he may steal her ornaments. He struck her with a stone, and she was brought to the Prophet while she was still alive. The Prophet asked her, "Did such-and-such person strike you?" She gestured with her head, expressing denial. He asked her for the second time, and she again gestured with her head, expressing denial. When he asked her for the third time, she beckoned, "Yes". So the Prophet killed him (the Jew) with two stones.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek justice and stand up against injustice whenever you see it happening around you . Protect those who cannot protect themselves .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about justice and punishment for those who commit wrongdoings. It tells us that no matter how small or big the crime is, it should be punished accordingly. In this case, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was presented with a situation where a Jew had killed an innocent girl in order to steal her ornaments. He asked her three times if it was indeed him who committed this crime and when she nodded yes, he punished him by killing him with two stones. This teaches us that justice should be served no matter what and that even if someone has committed a minor crime, they should still be held accountable for their actions as it is not right to take away someone's life without any reason. We can also learn from this hadith that we must always seek justice and stand up against injustice whenever we see it happening around us as it is our duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
