Permission for Wrong Order of Rituals During Day of Nahr

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ gave permission to people who had performed certain rituals in the wrong order during the Day of Nahr.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: A man said to the Prophet (while he was delivering a sermon on the Day of Nahr), "I have performed the Tawaf round the Ka'ba before the Rami (throwing pebbles) at the Jamra". The Prophet said, "There is no harm (therein)". Another man said, "I had my head shaved before slaughtering (the sacrifice)". The Prophet said, "There is no harm". A third said, "I have slaughtered (the sacrifice) before the Rami (throwing pebbles) at the Jamra". The Prophet said, "There is no harm".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have good intentions while performing religious rituals; Strive to do better next time after making mistakes; Ask for forgiveness from Allah; Be sincere with your actions; Learn from your mistakes

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man who asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ if it was permissible to perform certain rituals in the wrong order during the day of Eid al-Adha, also known as Yawm an-Nahr or Festival Sacrifice. The man asked if it was okay to perform Tawaf around Ka'ba before Rami, shave his head before slaughtering and slaughtering before Rami. To this, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ replied that there is no harm in doing so. This hadith teaches us that even if we make mistakes while performing religious rituals, Allah will forgive us and accept our repentance as long as we have good intentions and are sincere in our actions. It also teaches us that we should not be too hard on ourselves when making mistakes but instead learn from them and strive to do better next time.
