The Prohibition of Swearing by One's Father

SUMMARY: It is not permissible to swear by one's father.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, "Do not swear by your fathers".
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهُ ‏ "‏ لاَ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ
