Sahih al-Bukhari 6614 (Book 82, Hadith 20) #6361
Predestination and Argument between Adam and Moses

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the argument between Adam and Moses, in which Adam explains to Moses that all of his actions were predetermined by Allah.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Adam and Moses argued with each other. Moses said to Adam'.O Adam! You are our father who disappointed us and turned us out of Paradise'. Then Adam said to him, 'O Moses! Allah favored you with His talk (talked to you directly) and He wrote (the Torah) for you with His Own Hand. Do you blame me for action which Allah had written in my fate forty years before my creation?' So Adam confuted Moses, Adam confuted Moses," the Prophet added, repeating the Statement three times.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the argument between Prophet Adam and Prophet Moses. It highlights the concept of predestination, which is a core belief in Islam. According to this hadith, Allah has predetermined everything that will happen in our lives before we are even created. In other words, whatever happens to us was already written by Allah forty years before we were born. When Prophet Moses blamed Prophet Adam for their expulsion from Paradise, he explained this concept of predestination to him. This hadith teaches us that no matter what happens in our lives, it was already written by Allah and it is part of His plan for us. We should not be too hard on ourselves or others when things don't go as planned because it may have been part of Allah's plan all along.
