The Power of Vowing

SUMMARY: Allah has already predetermined what will happen to a person, but vowing can be used to make a miser spend his wealth.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said (that Allah said), "Vowing does not bring to the son of Adam anything I have not already written in his fate, but vowing is imposed on him by way of fore ordainment. Through vowing I make a miser spend of his wealth".

QUICK LESSONS:
Use the power of vowing responsibly and vow only when necessary or beneficial for you or others around you.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the power of vowing. It was narrated by Abu Huraira and it states that Allah said that vowing does not bring anything to the son of Adam that He has not already written in his fate. However, through vowing, Allah can make a miser spend his wealth. This means that even if something is predetermined for us, we still have some control over our lives and our actions can influence our destiny. We should use this power responsibly and vow only when necessary or beneficial for us or others around us.
