Sahih al-Bukhari 6604 (Book 82, Hadith 10) #6351
The Prophet's Speech of Everything to Come

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ gave a speech in which he mentioned everything that would happen until the Hour. Some of his listeners remembered what was said, while others forgot it. Hudhaifa later recognized events that had been mentioned in the speech when they occurred.

Narrated Hudhaifa: The Prophet once delivered a speech in front of us wherein he left nothing but mentioned (about) everything that would happen till the Hour. Some of us stored that our minds and some forgot it. (After that speech) I used to see events taking place (which had been referred to in that speech) but I had forgotten them (before their occurrence). Then I would recognize such events as a man recognizes another man who has been absent and then sees and recognizes him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your words and actions; remember Allah’s words
EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith narrated by Hudhaifa, we learn about a speech given by the Prophet (ﷺ) in which he spoke about all the events that would occur until the Hour. Some of those present remembered what was said and some forgot it. Later on, Hudhaifa saw these events taking place and recognized them as one recognizes another person who has been absent and then seen again. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our words and actions as they may have consequences for us in the future; it also encourages us to remember Allah’s words so that we can recognize His signs when they come to pass.
