On the day of resurrection, people will be sweating profusely. This sweat is so intense that it will sink seventy cubits deep into the earth. A cubit is a unit of length equal to about 18 inches or 45 centimeters. This means that this sweat would be sinking down for over one hundred feet! The sweat would then rise up again until it reaches people's mouths and ears. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all about how serious judgement day is going to be and how important it is for us to prepare ourselves for it now by doing good deeds in our lives.
