Sahih al-Bukhari 6522 (Book 81, Hadith 111) #6271
Gathering on the Day of Judgement

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ said that people will be gathered on the Day of Judgement in three ways, depending on their level of faith and fear.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The people will be gathered in three ways: (The first way will be of) those who will wish or have a hope (for Paradise) and will have a fear (of punishment), (The second batch will be those who will gather) riding two on a camel or three on a camel or ten on a camel. (The third batch) the rest of the people will be urged to gather by the Fire which will accompany them at the time of their afternoon nap and stay with them where they will spend the night, and will be with them in the morning wherever they may be then, and will be with them in the afternoon wherever they may be then".

The first group are those who have faith and hope in Allah's mercy, but also fear His punishment. The second group are those who will come riding two or three or ten camels, while the third group are those who will be urged to gather by a fire which accompanies them during their afternoon nap and stays with them until morning wherever they may go. This hadith teaches us to have faith in Allah's mercy and justice, as well as to fear His punishment if we do not follow His commands.
