The Knowledge of Truth

SUMMARY: Knowing the truth can be overwhelming and cause one to feel sorrowful.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "If you knew that which I know you would laugh little and weep much".
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ كَانَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلاً، وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا
