Mindful of the Heat

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us to be mindful of the heat and wait until it cools down before performing prayer.

Narrated Abu Dhar: We were in the company of the Prophet on a journey and the Mu'adh-dhin wanted to pronounce the Adhan for the (Zuhr) prayer. The Prophet said to him, "Let it become cooler". Then he again wanted to pronounce the Adhan but the Prophet; said to him, "Let it become cooler". The Mu'adh-dhin again wanted to pronounce the Adhan for the prayer but the Prophet said, "Let it become cooler," till the shadows of the hillocks become equal to their sizes. The Prophet added, "The severity of the heat is from the raging of Hell".

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith narrated by Abu Dhar, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to be mindful of the heat and wait until it cools down before performing prayer. He said that when we are in a journey and want to perform prayer in hot weather, we should wait until it becomes cooler so that our prayers can be performed with ease. The Prophet ﷺ also mentioned that the severity of heat is from the raging of Hell. This hadith teaches us to take care of ourselves during hot weather and not rush into things without considering our own health or comfort. It also reminds us about how severe Hell will be if we do not follow Allah's commands.
