Special Invocation for Intercession

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) wanted to keep a special invocation for interceding for his followers in the Hereafter.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "For every prophet there is one (special invocation (that will not be rejected) with which he appeals (to Allah), and I want to keep such an invocation for interceding for my followers in the Hereafter".
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ يَدْعُو بِهَا، وَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي فِي الآخِرَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was concerned about the well-being of his followers even after death. He wanted to ensure that they would be taken care of in the afterlife and so he kept a special invocation that he could use to intercede on their behalf. This hadith teaches us that we should always think of our loved ones and strive to do what is best for them even after we are gone. It also reminds us of the importance of having faith in Allah and trusting Him with our lives and those of our loved ones.
