Resilience in Adversity

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was injured while walking and he quoted a poetic verse to show his resilience in the face of adversity.

Narrated Jundub: While the Prophet was walking, a stone hit his foot and stumbled and his toe was injured. He then (quoting a poetic verse) said, "You are not more than a toe which has been bathed in blood in Allah's Cause".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet's resilience in the face of adversity. While walking, a stone hit his foot and he stumbled and injured his toe. Despite this, he showed courage by quoting a poetic verse which translates to "You are not more than a toe which has been bathed in blood in Allah's Cause". This shows that even when faced with difficulty or pain, one should remain steadfast and patient as it is for Allah's cause. It teaches us that we should never give up no matter how hard things get because our struggles will be rewarded by Allah if we remain patient and resilient.
